They will get confused. They do not link to phone specifically. They react to any voice.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would think if you changed the "wake-up" word on one of the dots it would work fine to have them in the same room. They would need to be connected to two different Amazon accounts too though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They will get confused because they always listening for the phrase Alexa so both will answer at the same time... In the future you will be able to change the wake up word from Alexa to anything you desire.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Each Dot is separate. They can be setup for different profiles under your amazon prime accounts, but if they are next to each other then the only option will be to choose a different activation word. You can choose from Alexa, Echo, Amazon or Computer. That would allow the Dots to be close to each other but each child would be able to use a different wake word to activate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are synced to your Amazon account. I realized this when I bought mine through my sisters Amazon prime account, and it keeps trying to link to hers. As long as you have an individual account set up for each Echo then I don't think it will be an issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are synced to each phone but it will be the same information on both
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Echo dot will respond to any voice in the room. Syncing them to a phone does not affect whose voice it will respond to. The devices are not able to separate out for each of them unless they use each of them in different rooms.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They each need an Amazon account when setting them up to work separately
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The way that multiple Dots work in a house is that whichever Dot is closest to the voice command that one will go off. If it is a small room I'd probably recommend only having 1 in the room. You can do some control with the App so if each kid has a phone with the Amazon Alexa App on it they can control each one individually by selecting the appropriate Echo Dot listed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Two will not work in the same room. They are completely reliant on voice activation.
