The Echo Dot is not battery operated. It has to be plugged in.

No Batteries. It needs to be plugged in to operate otherwise you can buy the portable battery base designed for the Echo Dot

No internal battery, just run it off a portable battery pack or adapter in the car with USB plug in!

It is not battery operated, it has a power cord and needs to be plugged in to an electrical outlet to work.

The dot is not portable so it has to always be plugged in. The Amazon tap is portable with a rechargeable battery
