• There is no cost per month. You purchase it and it is yours. If you have a subscription to Amazon Prime then you get free music and you can purchase items using voice command and it will charge your amazon account. However, if you choose not to pay for Amazon Prime you can use the echo dot as a Bluetooth speaker by connecting it to your phone and using it for sound.
