I have four dots, all bought at different times in different places. They have different personalities, but when I ask any one of them to put music on repeat or to play continuously, it goes a long time before shutting down (which I was told is a safety feature). One of our pets recently had surgery and had to be isolated from the other pets, so in setting up a space for her I set the dot in that room to continuously play soft rock music ... twelve hours later it was still playing. Note: A lot of way a dot functions seems to have to do with how you word your request (yes, I am very serious).

After I have the music started on one dot I then say “play music everywhere” and it plays through the other dots in the house.
