• A:Answer I created a "routine" so when I say "Alexa, Good Night" the device will turn off my kitchen lights, lock the front door, turn the lamp off and she will even say "good night" with many different variances.

• A:Answer Either 'unit' (Dot, Echo, etc) works, the bigger the unit the better the audio (larger speakers). FYI these are all tied to your Amazon account so if the acct is in your 'soon to be ex hubby' name and you want total control, you may want to get your own Amazon account.

• A:Answer If all you are looking to do is turn a TV on and off, simply purchase some smart plugs. I initially bought a 4 pack of Etekcity plugs on Amazon and they work great. Plug into wall outlet and then plug whatever device you want to control into it. 1st time setup is easy and they also work off your wifi. Once recognized by the Alexa app, name the device in the app and you are good to go. You can even use Alexa to act as a sleep timer by telling her to shut off in 30 minutes or whatever. Keep in mind, this setup cuts all power to the device - it is as if you pulled the plug. If you have Smart TV, that MAY create issue with losing data or settings. Check into that first.

• A:Answer The Echo Dot will not actually adjust the speaker volume but it would adjust the volume from the Echo Dot itself thereby increasing the volume. This is the same way a phone paired to bluetooth in a car works, you can adjust the output of the phone using the volume and then adjust the overall volume in the car using the radio volume. However, I have the Fire TV Cube and since that includes a IR blaster it actually does adjust the volume of my speakers directly.

• A:Answer I believe the only way to do that is to have the Alexa app on your phone and be connected to said echo dot you want to talk to. it uses a feature called "drop in" to be able to talk to whoever is close to Alexa. and so there is a way to set up the echo dot to be able to call your phone through the Alexa app .hope this helps

• A:Answer Just about anything that is a smart device can be connected to Alexa, such as lights, switches, doorbells and door locks, thermostats, cameras, routers and extenders, washing machines, refrigerators, vacuums, coffee makers and other smart kitchen appliances, smart toys, and basically just about ANY smart home device! I have mine connected to my interior home lights, my robot vacuum, phone, camera, thermostat, and door locks and plugs! Not only can she connect to all of these devices, but you can also set up routines within the Alexa app to automatically turn your lights and other smart devices on and off at a certain time each day, etc.

• A:Answer Yes you can. All you need to do is go to the Alexa app and go to devices. From there you’ll need to click on your Alexa device and click connect a device. Make sure your Bluetooth is on and then select your device. The Alexa device will act as a Bluetooth speaker.
