It should work fine in multiple rooms. Only challenge you might face if you have a small house then if one kid is yelling at his Alexa device other 2 will activate too and bug everyone else. Good idea would be to name them differently, 1) Alexa , 2) Amazon, 3) Echo .. so each kid has personal wake up name for Alexa and they won't mess with each other.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have 2 echo dots in our small apartment. One is in the kitchen and one is in our bedroom. They will work individually. Sometimes both of them hear your command, but the closer one will answer back while the other one ignores your request. You can also play different music on each one at the same time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can give each one its own name instead of the default "Alexa" during the setup process that way each one will work independently and simplify their operation for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.echo dot has the possibility of giving 4 names to the device.. have every kid give his own name to his alexa dot.. I have 4 echo devices plus the phone which also becomes an echo device.. one is echo, the other amazon then there's alexa and the last name is computer.. you might have to update the alexa devices to do that

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have 3 adjacent rooms each with a stereo pair of dots. Just don't give loud commands or they'll all respond!
