- Answer Hello! The Echo Dot 5th Gen does not require a charging port, it plugs directly into the wall. Below are the set up instructions that may be helpful, To set up your new Echo device, follow these steps: 1. Before setup, download or update the Alexa app in your mobile device app store. 2. Plug in your device. 3. Open the Alexa app . 4. Open More and select Add Device. 5. Select Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Plus and more. 6. Follow the on screen instructions to set up you device. - Answer I think so. You have to have the Alexa app on your phone to connect it to the wifi in your house. It asks for an Amazon account which i have so I didn't try to set it up without one. I am pretty sure you have to have an Amazon account but it doesn't have to be Prime.

- Answer Absolutely, we have 5 all in different rooms. All you do is say "Alexa play music everywhere " and it will play whatever music you asked for.

- Answer The Echo dot 5th gen has no display and would not be able to show you what song is currently playing from the device. The Alexa application should show you what music is playing throughout the house, and every Echo speaker will tell you what song is playing if you ask.
