Echo plus has the capability to control home automation products, without a hub. (It is the hub) Even if you dont currently use products like voice controlled lighting, curtains and speakers, you might in the future. Also, the plus has a larger speaker and sounds much better. I would purchase the plus.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Wheat I like about the Plus is that it has a hub already from the smart lightbulbs so they can connect to your device fairly easy. The regular echo doesn't so you need to buy a separate hub to connect to your echo to have the smart lightbulbs its a hassle

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Echo Plus provides better sound than the standard Echo, particularly bass response. The Echo show also provides “premium” sound. I think the Plus is worth the extra money unless all you listen to is talk radio. Go for the Echo Show if you need the screen too.
