A:Answer The range depends entirely on your antenna, the terrain around you, the weather, and the distance to broadcast towers. The Recast just receives the signal the antenna provides. In my case, it does a very good job with the signal it gets, but ultimately the range has nothing to do with the Recast.
With a good antenna, and if you have line-of-sight to the tower (no trees or buildings or hills in the way), you can easily get ranges well over 50 miles. Where I live, 25 miles outside Boston, in a hilly area with very tall trees, I'm able to pick up all Boston stations with an antenna that I've got mounted about 30' up, but that's not the case in heavy rains or blizzards.
