The Fire Stick alone doesn't replace cable but it enables you to subscribe to streaming services such as Hulu. Hulu Live at $40 per month gives you everything that Direct TV gives you for over $100 per month. You need a strong wifi signal which you can guarantee with the Google wifi 3 pack for one time cost of $250. Its a miracle device. What are you waiting for?

But there are many streaming services like YouTube Hulu etc. but not all are created equally. Iv got a streaming app that has all the regular cable channels plus HBO Cinemax Showtime Starz PPV for $30/month all thanks to the firestick.

I believe direct TV is like a cable service via satellite that is pricey so you may no longer need them. You can change and start streaming live tv content like YouTubeTV, Sling, Hulu etc etc. There are so many choices now. You can forego them and also just get a HD TV antenna and get basic channels that are free.
