Most content previously part of a cable subscription channel (like HGTV) is only (legally) available if you still subscribe to cable. If you drop your cable subscription (as I did), you will only get limited excerpts of shows like HGTV from the app on the Fire Stick. Nonetheless, we found with a Netflix or Hulu account, we could still get much of the same content, just a few days to weeks later than the cable channels. I also put up an antenna to supplement these sources with over-the-air (OTA) TV. I live 40 miles from the OTA transmitters in the DFW area, but with a $40 antenna/amplifier combo, I'm able to get about 50 channels including all the major networks, foreign-language channels, and religious channels. I do not miss cable at all (okay, except for Disney Channel and Hallmark Channel) and there is never a lack of programming available. I'm paying $100 less (already had Netflix anyway) per month.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Home and Garden television is on there for you to download but I have not seen Own yet. And you are aware that you have to have a cable subscription for you to access these two apps on your fire stick as soon as you go to log on to it it will ask you for a code that you get from cable to verify you have a cable subscription
