- Answer Remote itself works as Alexa to open apps. Regardless Alexa device (like echo dot) is not required to use Fire Tv stick. You just need a TV and wireless internet connection, and of course an amazon account to activate the device.

QuestionIs firetvstick with the Alexa voice remote compatible with Insignia tv? I can't get the remote to pair and start working though I had fire tv earlier model without alexa and it worked fine.

- Answer Yes it does. I have two Insignia TVs, and the Alexa voice remote is compatible with both. You should have had the option when you first turned the fire stick on to pair the remote. Go back to settings, and set up the remote.

- Answer Wifi is your internet connection being broadcast wirelessly to your devices. All you have to do is plug it in and it will prompt you to connect to your wireless (wifi) network. Then its good to go. Web search troypoint .com to really see the fire sticks potential. Enjoy :)

- Answer In order to stream content wirelessly from your Macbook to the firestick you need to download a third party app from the app store. There are several options, such as AirBeamTV, but none of them are free.

- Answer Not sure I entirely understand the question, but the stick is essentially a connection device that links your WiFi to your TV and uses various built in apps to stream services your TV. There's no fee paid to Amazon once you buy the device. You could for example start watching You Tube right away. For fee based streaming services you'd select the associated app on screen once you've enrolled and then log in on the TV to access your content.

- Answer Nothing, you own it. What you pay for monthly is the apps that you set up on it through Amazon (i.e. HBO, Hulu, Sling, Netflix, etc., etc.) You set up and pay for just the ones you're going to use. Cancel whenever you want through the Amazon website.

- Answer I TOTALLY understand! I spent more time trying to get to the battery compartment than anything! Notice on the back, bottom, there is an arrow pointing up, and a line under it? Well, I put my thumbnail in the line on back, and with other hand, place thumb on the top back indention ...it slides up and off! Hang in there, it’s worth it!
