A:AnswerWe bought the new Kindle for our 8yr son to keep him busy on the 7hr drive to VA. It did what we need it to do the WHOLE weekend - and kept him busy and interested. The weekend was more adult specific and our son is not one to really sit still for any length of time. He operates it easily, we activated the parental controls with ease, he asks when he wants a new game downloaded and we use this as an additional reward for positive choices. I recommend purchasing the protector shield and flip case for the Kindle as well. Another layer of protection for little boys is always a good thing.
A:AnswerIt's great at night but horrible in the sun. I bought my husband a Nook Glowlight which is great. You can turn on the light on it and read in the dark or leave the light off and read out in the sun.
A:AnswerYes, you can pair a Bluetooth keyboard with the Kindle Fire HDX models... Just make sure the keyboard says it works on Android operating systems...
A:AnswerEven thought it is sold by Best Buy, you can get anything and everything you need through Amazon.com if you can't find it at best buy. Also if the cable was missing, call Amazon they will honor any problems regardless of where you purchase it.
A:AnswerI am also a former Nook user. I still prefer it's B & W screen for outdoor reading. The Kindle Fire HDX is a great product, but difficult to see in bright light. NO PROBLEMS with charging issues after 6 months of use.
A:AnswerEasier to get the Chromecast module. Smaller and easier to carry, plus it connects wirelessly to the kindle so you don't have to sit right next to the tv
A:AnswerYes do it before the year warranty is up. Amazon will honor any defects regardless of where the item is purchased. I have heard though you are most likely to get a replacement refurbished one and not a brand new one.
A:AnswerA back camera allows you to take pictures of others. If you have only a front facing camera, it will only allow you to take pictures of whatever is in front of the camera, usually meant for selfies.
You don't need both but most products nowadays come with both. Depends on personal preference
