QuestionDoes this version have the special offers?I want one without special offers. Please let me know if this has the ads on screen.

- Answer Don't waste your money getting one without special offers. They only show up as a cover page when the Kindle is off and when you first turn it on, but once you go to your book you will never see them again until you turn your Kindle off. Save your $20. I was concerned at first that they would be like those stupid banner ads that you see on web sites, but they're not. Like I said save your money. But if you really want to spend the money, you can pay for the special offers to go away through your Kindle, but I don't think that once you see how they work that you'll want to waste the money.

- Answer Yes. The only difference between the 2015 Paperwhite and the previous generation is the pixel density--the new Paperwhite is 300ppi.

- Answer Most books can be shared with other Kindle readers. You need to go to your Amazon account, click on the box next to the book, if it is a book that can be loaned, you will see "Loan this Book", click on that, put in the person's email and once they get notification, they can click on the link and download to their Kindle. Keep in mind that if you are loaning a book, it will not be available for you to read while the other person has it.

QuestionCan you tell if you have purchased the newest generation by the box?I purchased a Kindle Paperwhite and was told that it was the newest one. I think that it may be the 2nd generation. How can I telll which model that I have for sure? I bought this somewhere else. The Kindle name below the screen is in white not black.

- Answer The Kindle Paperwhite 2 has the Kindle logo below the screen in white and the Paperwhite 3 is in piano black. The other way to verify which version you have in look at the fonts available while reading a book. The new Paperwhite 3 has a new font named Bookerly that was specifically designed for the new 300 ppi display. I hope this helps.

- Answer Yes, assuming your library offers ebooks. When you borrow a book from the library, it is added to your kindle account and you download it like any other book.

QuestionDoes the WHITE Paperwhite (as compared with the BLACK model) make it more difficult to read and focus on the black lettering of text? IOW, is the white frame so BRIGHT that it interferes with reading (and is too "glaring") like when read in a dark room?

- Answer No it doesn't. The white frame isn't shiny at all. I haven't found it difficult to read versus the black version at all.

QuestionI need LARGE print to be able to read. How big can the print be?

- Answer The largest print displays only 6 lines on the screen. I normally use the font size that displays about 23 lines. It looks like about a 12 arial. You have 8 choices in font size. I use the 3rd option. Sorry, they don't number the sizes.

- Answer Yes it is for what you get (at least to my family). An e-reader that can be read in bright sun light with no glare.

- Answer Books should stay with you Kindle account. If you set up a new Kindle with the old account information, transfer should be automatic.

- Answer It does have special offers when you press the button on the bottom. However if you hold the button for 7 seconds it gives you the option to turn the screen blank instead of a special offer. The image of the special offer on the screen does not consume any battery life.

Questionwill kindle paperwhite bought in US als work in Europe?If I buy an "Amazon - Kindle Paperwhite - Black Model: B00OQVZDJM SKU: 9439005" when visiting the US this month, will I be able to use it in Europe? Can I register it to a European account? I also want to make sure that this is the version without the "special offer" that is only available for US citizens.

- Answer The Paperwhite will work in Europe. This is the special offers version that shows ads. If you chat with Kindle support, they may be able to remove it free of charge (normally it is 20 bucks) since the ads are for US only.

- Answer It comes with the usb cable but not the adapter to plug into the wall. I just use my iPhone adapter or charge it by plugging it into my computer.

- Answer Yes, you can use the Kindle without a computer. You will need a wifi connection. But the kindle has its own browser so a computer is not necessary. Browsing is very limited on the kindle paperwhite. It is perfect if you just want to be able to download and read books. But if you want additional features you should consider the kindle fire or other tablets with more wifi connected features.
