I am not an expert, but I did transfer my books from old to new Kindle. I used my desktop, when you hook up your old Kendal look under Books and Docs and you will see all your content. I transferred from old to a file folder on my desktop. Once on my desktop I connected my new Kindle and did the same process only in reverse. Or you could send your content to your Amazon account and then deliver to your new Kindle.

However books can not be transferred directly from your old Kindle to your new kindle! For other (non-Amazon) ebooks that you might have loaded to your Kindle, they might not be on the Amazon Library, but you could reload them as you did initially. You should be able to re-create the same book library on your new Kindle to make your experience most enjoyable and not interrupt your reading! Hope that helps!
