Hello CJ! That is a great question! The Paperwhite with ads simply means that on the lockscreen there will be recommendations for books from the Kindle book store. They do not pop up during reading or using the device and they are not invasive. I hope this answers your question and that you have an awesome day!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ad supported paperwhites push book ads that show up when the devices is "off" or locked on the screen (this does not use any extra battery life since the screen only uses batter power to "draw" the screen. Ad supported Kindle Fire tablets play hugely annoying videos and I couldn't turn them off fast enough - extortion really. Since the paperwhite doesn't do video, the ad supported versions don't do this, and so the ads - all for Amazon books - are not intrusive. This Signature version comes without ads and just shows the cover of the last book you read on it. Kind of nice really.
