“How strong is the magnet? I’m a delivery driver, so I drive a lot, and we have brick roads in my town. My current phone holder keeps my iPhone 12 in place, most of the time, even through the case (which is thin). I just need something to charge it too.”

It’s a strong magnet, and the pad between the phone and magnet is rubbery so slipping has not been an issue for me. However, if your case is not MagSafe-compatible, I would not expect performance to be very good on typical roads, let alone brick roads. As someone who drives a lot, this mount is incredibly handy though. One-handed attachment and removal, and no concern my phone will slip.

Cases made of metal and attachments such as magnets, cards, keys, and pop grips will interfere with charging. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve used my iPad mini w/ defender case on and so far it has not fallen off when I drive over bumps and unavoidable last minute potholes. The magnet is strong. The only thing that’s happened is my phone and iPad mini tilts to the side when I do drive over a pothole but for the most part it is still staying on.
