The primary difference between the C4MVJ and the C4-V-CJM are the compared pickup paths. The Clearstream 4 Max, model C4MVJ, has a 43° pickup path from the front and back because it does not have reflectors behind the loop elements. The Clearstream 4 V, model C4-V-CJM has a 43° path from the front with much less reception from the back and sides because it has reflectors behind its loop elements. To decide which antenna is best for you, I recommend contacting our Technical Support team at your earliest convenience. Technical Support can analyze your signal for you, and can be reached either on the phone @ 877-825-5572 or via form submission here https://www.antennasdirect.com/customer-service.html. Thanks for your time!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe the the difference by eye is the grill on the c4-v-cjm and not on the c4mvj but there's also a difference in signal gain, the c4-v-cjm having a higher gain than the c4mvj along with a broader bandwidth hence the term used "extreme range"for the c4-v-cjm Having a higher gain gives the antenna better chance to pick up hard to reach signals as told to me by antenna installers. The difference in price could be just different retailers. But I did buy mine from Bestbuy for 149.99 + tax (c4mvj) which picks up all the stations I want (30 miles away at least) 40+ channels. Now could I have gotten it cheaper, maybe, do I care?,...I' m getting 40+ channels, I'm happy. Now maybe you'll get more channels with the extreme range antenna, but I think if you stick with Clearstream you won't be disappointed. Good luck hope I helped.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The technical answer is that the C4-V-CJM has a Faraday Shield on the back (metal screening what looks like a side of a rabbit hutch) that does two things: 1) reflect the UHF signals away from the back side - reducing multi-path interference and 2) a trivial reflection of the signals forward to increase the GAIN.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have bothe, however I got 2 power amplifiers on bothe and the better one gose over 120 mile distance. However the more and better power amplifier you use gets you more distance and more channels
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Stan the Man: One has a set of wire squares for additional reception, I have both antennas, doesn't make any difference, same reception on both, save your money and buy the $100.00 set.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have both antennas and use a power amp on both lines. The one with the wire grid on the back works great at 70+ miles! The other I am using at 40+.miles and, of course, gets even more channels ( because of the closer range) . Both are outstanding antennas. Mount them outside on a pole above your roof height and install your amplifier near to the antenna (boost xt makes a good amp) and go to antenna.web to search the channels in your area. Be sure to click the little box that reads “antenna is mounted up high with a pre amp” ( or similar wording), and you will be able to see all of the available channels in your area. Also, you will be able to see which direction they are located from your house and be able to “aim” your antenna in the correct direction to get the most channels. Good luck and I hope that this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think the other people who answered this question got it all wrong. From the pictures I've seen, they BOTH have wire mesh on the backside. The difference seems to be that the C4MVJ is a UHF-only antenna, and the C4-V-CJM is a VHS/UHF antenna. VHS is channels 6-13, and UHF is channels 14-69 or whatever. Of course, we are talking real (RF) channels, not the virtual channels. In other words, some channels that appear to be VHS channels will be broadcasting on a UHF frequency, and the TV or DVR will map it to a certain VHS channel. Thus, the only way to tell whether you need a VHS antenna is to go to a TV Transmitter Locator and Mapping Tool site and look at the RF channels of the stations in your area.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The C4-V-CJM has the wire back and the C4MVJ dose not
