• Only if you have a TV that doesn't accept digital broadcasts.

• If your TV has the screw on 75ohm type cable input it works fine no converter required. It works really well with the current flatscreen TVs.

• The antenna does not have an ATSC tuner onboard. It's the TV being used that determines if one is needed. Check the specs on your TV using your model number. If it has an ATSC digital tuner, an external converter box will not be needed. If the TV shows an NTSC analog tuner only, then a converter box will be needed. Thanks!
