A:Answer Does it turn black while you are using it? Does it come back on after a reboot or doing something else. If you can get it to come back on, then it probably isn't the video card. Try checking the power options to see if it is shutting the monitor off after a period of time. We have our monitors at work set to do this to keep them from being burnt in with an image. In the search bar, type control panel and then select the result. In control panel, choose large icons so you can see everything (over on the right) and then choose power options. Click either one of the shown options and then select what happens to the monitor by how long it takes before it goes to sleep. Also check the cables to make sure they are in tight. I usually use the fastening screws to make sure it doesn't work its way out. Try another video cable. If you had to use adaptors to connect the cable to get the ends correct, try getting a cable that has the correct ends. Using adapters can affect the connection. If none of this works, see if you can try someone else's monitor and see if it happens with that. If it doesn't, then maybe the monitor has a problem.
