Does this unit have a user-replaceable battery? null

yes as you have to connect the battery for first use anyways and then you will see that the battery comes out and can be replaced

It's possible to replace the battery but unfortunately the manufacturer makes it quite expensive. Every time I tried I found was more convenient and cost-effective to buy a new UPC and recycle the battery at the local public facility.

Yes - though the battery in my first unit lasted 7 years. I chose to upgrade the unit when the battery in the first unit died rather than replace the battery.
