• A:Answer Softof but not really. It is possible to open the unit and replace the battery BUT the manufacturer does NOT intend for the average end-user to do that. There is no pop-open battery door

• A:Answer Your power draw would control how long the UPS runs your DVR/NVR. On Average, a 8-camera DVR would use about 60W, so theortically you should be able to get about 1-1.5 hours or so. This is assuming a 50% power factor / utilization. APC has a calculator on their website to help you decide how large a unit you need.

• A:Answer Probably not a good idea to run only on the battery. Some Power Lift Recliners have battery backups to allow you to get the chair out of the reclined position if the power goes out. If that were you intention then a UPS would work but, you would want to be sure it is the right size. It would be interesting to hear how many cycles you could get before the battery is depleted. You are going to be using a lot of power since chair like has a DC motor so, you will be converting DC to AC (UPS) and then back AC to DC (recliner).

Q: QuestionIs it alright to leave it on full time? I just bought 3 and they're all currently on. Solid green light on the power button. Is that safe to do or do I have to turn it off and only use it during an outage?

• A:Answer Absolutely. That’s really what they’re for, to backup when you have those brief power outages and to keep your power level even when you have dips and spikes from the power company. They’re meant to cover you for brief periods. They aren’t really meant to keep running in the event of a long outage. If your power goes out and stays out, it gives you a chance to shut it down in a controlled fashion. Some UPS units have software that will actually shut your computer down for you if the power goes out. As a direct answer to your question, yes, leave it on all the time. That’s how they’re intended to be used.

• A:Answer No. We had this at work for our server. The battery backup needs to be a special one if using with a generator. We had to buy one that was around $2500 to make it work and protect the components of the server.

Q: QuestionPower outages happen frequently where we live, so we plugged the router to this UPS, But once the power goes out, the wifi is also down because it resets, which is confusing because isn’t the point of plugging it into the UPS having it uninterrupted?

• A:Answer The wifi router (to distribute the signal) and the Modem (cable, wireless/cellular, or satellite) would also need to be plugged in. NOTE: this is a relatively inexpensive unit. The capacity of the battery is small. This is more intended to provide time for you to be able to either 1) shut your stuff down, save your work., and, 2) eliminate "brown outs" - the small changes that you wouldn't notice with a light bulb, but that would have adverse affects on sensitive electronics, like a desktop computer. Brown outs are just small quick drop fluctuations in the power. 3) surge protector - to protect against the temp high peaks that might come through. In effect, it delivers "cleaner" and "safer" power to sensitive devices, and gives you a BRIEF period to be able to shut stuff down. PRO TIP: DO NOT overload this thing. Plug in the mission critical stuff - you NEED to see the monitor, and have the computer on it. Don't put a bunch of other stuff on it, as the battery will drain that much faster in a "black out" or total power outage. If you have a cellular based wi-fi modem, and you dedicated it to this, and you were working on a tablet/phone/laptop with it's own battery power, then, going back to the OP, if it was ONLY powering that, get some decent run time if that was all that was plugged in. But that sort of scenario is better addressed with much much larger units for more equipment, whether you stay in the land of UPS, or consider the modern, and way more flexible "Power Station". • A:Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. Yes you can mute the unit. The unit offers a quick mute option by shortly pressing the power button for less than 2 seconds during an alarm. There is also the option to turn off the on battery alarm completely. With the UPS turned on, you can configure the on battery indicator modes by holding down the power button and waiting for the third beep. At the third beep, the power button will cycle red/green. Release the power button and its color will indicate the mode it is in. You can mute the on battery alarm permanently by pressing the power button so the mode selector is flashing red. Once the mode as been selected please wait 5 seconds for the settings to be saved to the UPS.

• A:Answer Thanks for your inquiry about our BVN650M1 UPS. The five outlets that are labeled as "Battery + Surge" are ideally used for critical loads like computer or internet router in able to get back up power in case of outages. These five outlets will provide power as long as the UPS is powered on. The other 2 outlets labeled as "Surge" can provide power even the UPS is off, as long as the UPS is plugged on a working outlet.

Q: QuestionWill this maintain power to a quilting machine? I have a Q’Nique Elite 21x that I was advised to use a USP with to avoid power interruptions

• A:Answer Thank you for your interest in our products. The BVN650M1 would support 360 watts of power connected to it so the quilting machine may overload it. I would just confirm that the power draw of the machine is 450 watts like their website is saying. If it does you may need to go up to something like our BVN900M1 which supports 480 watts of power connected to it.

Q: QuestionMy power flickered and when it did, my pc shut off and restarted. Isn’t the surge supposed to prevent this? My monitor and tower are both plugged into the surge part. It is powered on, green light not flashing.

• A:Answer You want to use the Battery side for devices to have Uninterruptable power. The Surge side just acts like a surge protector/power strip and will not keep a device going when the power from the wall "flickers"
