• Yes, it can. The unit is solid. There are mounting holes on the bottom.

• It is a sealed battery and is unlikely to leak. Scanning the set up guide there is no mention of how it must be positioned.

• Thank you for your inquiry. Yes the BN650M1 can be placed on it's side if you like. It will not damage the unit being on it's side.

• Instructions indicate horizontal wall mount possible and provides a template . No cautions about using horizontally . Battery is a "brick" with push on tab connections .
