This is actually the smallest of the battery backups I've seen on the market, so if opening the garage door is what you're trying to do, I'd recommend at a minimum going with the largest one available. Unfortunately your best solution is an automatic backup generator similar to those made by generac.

It may make sense to contact the garage door manufacturer to see if they have any recommendations.
