I bought this battery backup/surge suppressor because of the frequent SCE electrical outages. I worry that sudden loss of power would damage the computer and/or cause loss of data. I use it to keep the computer, monitor & internet router up during electrical dropouts.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It provides battery backup power so you can say goodbye to all your friends if you have any, then safely shut down your equipment. Surge protection and backup protected.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your interest in our products. Any of our battery back up would provide a battery back up during a power outage. This way you would have time to power down the PC safely and save any work. You can also connect the data cable that comes with the UPS to your PC which can trigger the system to shutdown graceful because then the PC will sync up with the UPS to know when there is an extended power outage. All the outlets on the unit would provide surge protection but the ones that are labeled surge protection only would power off during a power outage. The ones that are labeled battery backup would stay on until the internal battery runs out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Power outages are a nuisance in your daily life. Why interrupt your time for recreation or entertainment if the power goes out?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The surge protector IS a huge plus, true. It alone would not be a reason to buy this unit. Plugging the computer into the battery side and adjusting the software correctly would cause the computer to shut itself down in a controlled way so as to not risk damaging your hard drive with the sudden incomplete processing caused by losing power. If losing power and potentially subsequently losing data is not a concern to you them you are correct. - you might not need one of these. I am using mine to support all the equipment that is necessary to keep my fiber internet functioning if i lose power in my home. I have purchased several of these over the years. I have one that backs up my ONI, my RG, the switch that supports my wired IPTVs, and the node that supports my wireless IPTVs. Then I have one that supports my computer and is programmed to shut down my PC once the battery level drops to a certain point. Lastly i have one that supports my home router and one more that supports the whole home DVR for my IPTV system. I love them and i love the backup support that i now have in my home.
