• iPadOS and the pre-installed applications take up about 10-12GB of iPad Air's storage. Some pre-installed apps can be uninstalled. The system storage will fluctuate depending on how you use the device and at times it may take up more than 12 GB of storage. With a 64GB iPad Air, expect to get about 52GB of usable storage. With a 256GB iPad Air, expect to get about 244GB of usable storage.

• On my iPad 4th gen, ios 14 takes about 6.28gb. "Other" takes about 2.62 GB

• I pay .99 cents per month for 50 gigs of additional cloud storage. I find that is plenty of storage.
