• The box doesn't come with plastic around, but the iPad comes with a delicate plastic all around to protect it.

• Mine was inside a box then once you opened box the iPad was wrapped in plastic and pushed inside of a styrofoam insert that kept it safe

• Possibly, but I would do in store pickup to be safe. Also keep in mind that Apples boxing is some of the best!
