• The second generation is not supported. You can only use the pencil pro for the M4 iPad Pro.

• No, it will not. This is based on actually testing my 2nd gen. Apple Pencil and 13-inch M4 iPad Pro. According to Apple, only the USB-C Apple Pencil and the Apple Pencil Pro are compatible with the M4 iPad Pro.
