This is the best MAC available today for 4K editing using Apple's Final Cut Pro X editing software. This MAC can be beefed up with extra memory, a faster graphics card, and a chip with more cores but this adds appreciably to the cost. The standard IMAC Pro will work well for 4K editing if you use external memory for your projects, and reserve the internal SSD drive just for your operating system and applications. Apple will be introducing a new MAC Pro tower next year aimed at the professional video editing market and it will be very fast, have lots of memory, and will be very pricey. You can go to a custom Windows tower for about the same price as the MAC and you would likely use the Adobe editing software with this. I personally prefer the reliability and simplicity of the Apple OS and Final Cut Pro X, and Apples optional customer service support.
