YES!! In fact I use a Kindle. Now Kindle books are adding photos and graphics to some of their books. I had a iPad Mini and loved it but gave it to a little neighbor girl. I have a regular size iPad and sometimes read on that, but it's really too big for reading while holding. If I want audio with my book I have to use my Kindle PLUS my phone to get audio. With the iPad Mini you'll have the perfect match. E-books with audio are the best way to read. The experience is so enhanced. To hear an author read his own words, or to hear a book with foreign names you couldn't begin to pronounce correctly is pure joy. I am going to purchase a new iPad Mini today!! Why not have both experiences in one item.... IPAD MINI is the way to go! Literally the only downfall is reading in direct sunlight due to the glare.
