• They can be used with any phone that supports Bluetooth. You just won't get the extra features that you can use with an Apple device.

• They seem to be able to connect to anything bluetooth but some advanced functionality might not work on non-Apple products. They do automatically know how to switch between my Mac, phone, and iPad based on what I'm using that has a sound. Also, interestingly, they connect bluetooth to my Fire TV (BT settings) and the controls work - volume, play/pause, etc. Very smart, very cool.
