No! You can totally use AirPods on any device. you just go to Bluetooth in ur settings like you would connect any other Bluetooth device and then on the back of the AirPods there should be a button in the shape of a circle, you hold that down until the light on the AirPods turns white, and then the AirPods should pop up on your Bluetooth list to connect to.

The airpods make up for their high cost for all the features they provide and these features are not available on an android operating system. For an android operating system I would recommend buying another headset.
