• The styling is still very much the same, so no real differences there. Inside the tech has better audio and voice quality as well as a longer talk time with support for voice activated Siri

• I found out you can also use the 2nd generation as temporary hearing aids as well as listening to music. They really work well.

• Better battery life, and overall sound quality. The technology used for noise cancelling is better as a whole. 2nd Gen does come with an upgraded case with speakers in case you lose them and lanyard loop and also being compatible with MagSafe. 1st gen misses out on all these upgrades.
