You can only adjust the volume with your phone and they turn off when you take them out of your ear
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It requires either using the volume buttons on your phone or using Siri to increase or decrease the volume.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Here's what I've learned about volume, the AirPods DO NOT change volume themselves. They only play what's transmitted. So the only way to control the volume is from the device that's sending the signal. So your smartphone or home/car stereo can change its volume. But a TV set that won't change its transmitted signal CANNOT change the AirPod volume. Care to know me how I learned that? :-( The on/off has 3 options from simplest to most complex: 1) Put them back in the case 2) Pair with your iPhone and in Settings, configure them to recognize "In-Ear". so they'll turn off a few seconds after you take them out of your ear.Take them out of your ear. 3) Pair with your iPhone and in Settings, configure either the left or right earpiece to Turn Off when you double-tap that earpiece.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Adjust volume with your device (phone). They will turn off simply by removing them and putting them back in the case.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can either tell Siri to lower the volume, or for touch controls on the earbuds themselves, you can find it under Bluetooth in Settings.
