The pods themselves are the same, the case is different. They sell a version of just the case for around $75 I believe and the pods will work with that new case perfectly fine.

Only way you are getting a decent price for the old ones is if you sell them on ebay or somewhere like that. Since they look the same there is no reason to upgrade at this point.
