Will the apple home pod work with Nest thermostats? null

not without a workaround ie homebridge or starling device https://www.starlinghome.io/ this would allow you link your nest stuff with HOMEKIT which that the key. if it works with HOMEKIT then it would work.

If you can control your Next thermostat with the Home app on the Apple iPad or iPhone, then yes. That same app is what you used to control the iPod minis

You will need to buy a HOOBS bridge to connect it to your HomeKit then you can control it with your HomePod mini . HOOBS will let you connect a lot of non HomeKit compatible devices to your apple HomeKit which in turn can then be controlled by HomePod mini
