All retailers sell both models. The base model does not include the ethernet capability, the touch ID capability on the keyboard, and it only has one fan. I would recommend getting the 10 core model as it has touch ID, two fans, and ethernet capability as well. The main reason they sell a Wi-Fi connection only is to keep costs to sell more units.
