The mini has the A8 chip and I don't notice any difference between that and my iPad pro with the A10X chip. The major difference between the mini and the newest iPad is the size and the mini is more like carrying a book around.

Please try again later.If you're referring to the new 9.7" model just released, of course, the Mini is smaller at 7.9" screen. eBook reading, you might want something smaller that you can easily hold in your hand. But for Netflix, you might something larger. Personal preference really. And depending what model Mini you have, what may be different is when you switch between apps or play intensive games which require more processing power. Newer ipads will generally have faster processors. Screen quality (not size) is pretty much the same. I hope that helps, happy shopping!
