It is a very thin case overall, and will serve more as scratch proofing case than anything. It does provide good grip on the phone though to prevent said drops unless you are one to just be clumsy, lol. But most cases unless you get rugged cases, will do little when it comes to drops. I would say if you have a Best Buy store near you, go in and try the case for yourself before buying. Just ask an associate for assistance so they won't think you're stealing it and they will open it and let you try it on.

As someone who works for Apple, I can say that the case, and most newer devices are water resistant to a certain degree, but none of it is fully waterproof, even the Apple Watch. If you plan on having your apple devices near water, absolutely be sure to purchase the AppleCare for it as well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The corners of the silicon tore open when dropped on pavement. But dropped on floor indoors seemed to be fine. There is no screen cover. The case is waterproof but doesn’t make the phone waterproof.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven’t had any experience with drops as of yet but the case itself is slim and long drop on hard surfaces would be only minor protection. No there is no screen protection with this case and the charging port on the case is open with no cover so waterproof is only what the phone specifications are.
