Once locked to the carrier, no one will assume the responsibility to unlock the device in the future! Truly unlocked iPhones are only sold by Apple! Carriers will sell a locked phone to their service but they could unlock it once the phone is paid off. A:AnswerAt the time you purchase the phone, it has to be activated with a carrier, so no it won’t be unlocked initially. However, after 90 days, the SIM-lock will be released, then you can sign with any carrier.
