I would recommend buying the BestBuy Totaltech before purchasing the iPhone. BestBuy Totaltech covers all Apple Devices (iPhones, Macbook, Airpods, etc) with Applecare+ and is the same price as you would pay to cover just 1 apple devices if you bought Applecare+ as a standalone service.
