It won't be completely free, you still have to pay the upgrade fee. But it is much less than paying for the full cost of the phone! Also, at the time Best Buy was offering rebated for trading in the i5, so see if those are still going on.

But none times out of ten the installment billing options are the more budget friendly choices for the carriers. Plus you are no longer in a service contract!
