You can use a popsocket on the leather, however I would advise against this. If you have to adjust the location of the popsocket, or remove it, the leather will get lifted from the base of the case and become warped. I tested this personally with an apple official product red leather case.

Sorry i havent installed one, but the leather is smooth and buffed to a slight gloss, being a flat surface, it might work, probably cant hirt to try it, if such accessory makes you happy. Will it leave a mark if you remove it, most likely. Just sayin.
