I understand that phones with the “activate today” label must be purchased with a cell phone service plan. That’s the reason ithey are cheaper, because these phones are bundled with a service plan. The “activate later” name is confusing, it just mean you can buy the service later or even put a SIM card from your current phone and it should work if the phone is unlocked (that’s what I did with the last activate later phone I purchased)

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As you have to purchase one line with unlock mobile phone and to use that line you can use your new mobile to activate new line. If you want to use existing line(mobile number) then you can activate new line(mobile number) later or in future
