Yes, you can use earphones. As a matter of fact, Apple EarPods come with it.

It does come with a headphone jack- 3.5mm to be exact- and it comes with regular earphones (without mic or music controller) along with cable to charge (but no wall adapter), NOT airpods. However the apple airpods are compatible with the ipod. Hope this helps n.n

Yes, there is a port for plugging earphones on the bottom of the unit. I have a set of Bose headphones and they work well with the iPod.
