Yes, if you are a college student, you qualify for the student discount if you have the information needed on the Student Discount sign-up; i.e., .edu email to verify your student status. You do not have to explain why you cannot afford something more expensive or have a certain GPA to sign up. After signing up, it just has to do with getting your acceptance email and/or student discount emails and buying items that qualify. Not all items in the store qualify. Best Buy identifies items which qualify for the student discounts and when.
