A:Answer Macs can support several Bluetooth devices at once. The official limit is seven. The practical limit is probably not the number of devices, but the data transfer speed. (Your mouse might start to lag if the interface is pushed to its full capacity.) I routinely connect a mouse, keyboard, and iPhone with no trouble, even when the iPhone is being backed up.
Accessory # 1 is a backup drive. Mandatory item, given that the internal drive can't be removed and "operated on" if it gets hosed. Get one, double the capacity of the internal drive, and use Time Machine to back up on a ragular basis. Double size means you can store and recover old copies of files and folders, even months or years after the original gets lost, corrupted, or trashed. It also lets you move everything to a different Mac with minimal fuss and bother.
#2 is Apple's "Magic Mouse" - a wonderful device, once you get used to it. Well worth a purchase if you don't have one already. Use rechargeable AA batteries - they last a couple of weeks between charges and pay for themselves very quickly.
