You send me the standard realtor 6% commission on this purchase and I’ll send you a secret code so you can get a reimbursement for the realtor discount. You’ll have to install pictures of an oceanfront view and of new upscale appliances on your new Mac’s wallpaper to make it work, but it’s well worth it.

Sometimes they may get a small discount (10%). It's never too much. At least not compared to their expenses to operate self-employed. Many times the commission is split 4 ways, because of those involved in the sale, (i.e. listing agent, selling agent, and Brokerage firm gets their share too.

There might be a benefit with all the fees Realtors have to pay. Also, the education they have to pay for. Sometimes because they are large volume self-employed people, the NAR (National Association of Realtors) might offer a discount as a member. Well deserved if they get it.

My best friend of 34 years is a realtor. He told me that realtors were no more special than anyone else to receive a discount on Apple products. WOW! I was not aware of that and thought realtors got discounts everywhere just because of their occupation. Plus he told me most realtors he knows use PC’s. Also, given average commission is 6% and on a high dollar sale the realtor should be able to purchase a Mac and not be concerned about getting a discount. Just for perspective, when I purchased my home my friend handled the buying part of the sale and at the closing he gave me and my spouse a gift card for $500. That was unexpected and I don’t think he would expect a discount for the mere fact he’s a realtor and actually a very good one.
