Does this laptop have a fan? Or is it quiet? null

The MacBook Pro M3 has one cooling fan. I find it to be very quiet, but that is a subjective opinion.

VERY QUIET, but yes, MacBook Pros do have fans. You'll basically never hear it running unless you do something really taxing like video editing, gaming & the like. I've been using my 14" MacBook Pro M3 (base M3) for about 2 weeks & I've not yet heard the fan kick in a single time. I'm using a lot of work applications a once along with plenty of browser windows (admittedly not the heaviest use case). It didn't even kick in during setup, and I was setting things up for HOURS...installing tons of apps, MacOS update, etc.

It has a fan and is very very quiet!
