I installed it, but used the apple migration assistant. That was the best way--just copied my old machine to the new one. I would say 90% of my plugins and preferences came through fine. A few had to be manually installed. This was the least painful way to do it then from setting it up from scratch. I'm doing that now on another machine and copying all my plugins, patches, preferences from the other machine (and then testing them) is a royal PITA.
